Christy Shields

Christy Shields has more than nine years of experience serving the nonprofit arena in various capacities. Her expertise in project supervision and management has been invaluable in: planning and execution of events, conferences and seminars; development of promotional and marketing materials; and coordination of programs to engage and support volunteers and donors.
Prior to joining The Compass Group, Ms. Shields served as assistant director of annual programs for The Marrow Foundation in Washington, DC for six years. In this role she designed and implemented effective donor relations and stewardship programs; identified, qualified and cultivated prospects; and successfully solicited annual and in-kind gifts.
Ms. Shields holds a Bachelor of Science degree in public administration from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
A resident of Burtonsville, Maryland, Ms. Shields is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She currently volunteers at The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland as well as for Pit Crews for Kids in Charlotte, North Carolina.
