Christy Shields has more than ten years of experience serving the nonprofit arena in various capacities. Her expertise in project supervision and management has been invaluable in: development audit and planning studies; planning and execution of events, conferences and seminars; development of promotional and marketing materials; and coordination of programs to engage and support volunteers and donors.
Prior to joining The Compass Group, Ms. Shields served as assistant director of annual programs for the Be The Match Foundation (formerly The Marrow Foundation) in Washington, D.C. In this role she designed and implemented effective donor relations and stewardship programs; identified, qualified and cultivated prospects; and successfully solicited annual and in-kind gifts. Previous to her employment at The Marrow Foundation, Ms. Shields was employed by the foundations's partner, Be the Match (formerly the National Marrow Donor Program).
Ms. Shields is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She currently volunteers at The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland where she is the immediate past chairperson of the Volunteer Advisory Committee.
